I believe in ongoing development of Senior resources, understanding of regulations/operations and continued growth of local networking. These avenues have allowed me to be a resource for Seniors, families and staff. Leading the team at Sentinel Pointe has proven to be a great source of Joy as we are all surrounded by friends in this community, I have never experienced so many positive people in one place all working towards the same goal. I am the proud mother to a 14 year old boy and a 8 year old girl who both keep me laughing and learning!
I have been lucky enough to work with the senior community for the last 11 years, providing ongoing care for those in need. In the time that I have been at Sentinel Pointe, I have witnessed the pride and sense of family that our staff and residents share alike. now, I have the pleasure of helping seniors find their new home at Sentinel Pointe and be a part of this great big family. I am a proud father of two wonderful children.
I am a Recreation Therapist who believes in making others smile and loving life. I enjoy getting residents to participate in leisure interests and to improve their quality of life. I love to have fun and be goofy. My husband and I have a 1 ½ year old at home that always makes our day brighter. My hobbies consist of listening to all types of music, being outdoors, and playing with my daughter.
I have worked at Sentinel Pointe since 2013. I began as a waitress in the dining room while attending school and then became a supervisor. I have been fortunate to continue to grow at Sentinel and am now Activities Director, where I am able to use all of my skills and talents to bring joy and happiness to other people. I enjoy leading and helping others, along with being active and creative. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time at the gym, painting, hiking, traveling, and running my makeup business. One of the many things I have enjoyed over the years working here is the many meaningful relationships I have developed with staff and residents. I love walking into work knowing the impact I am making on others, while they also make an impact on me.
I spent most of my childhood in 7 different countries, and their surrounding borders which gave me the chance to experience a vast amount of worldly cuisines that made a good enough impression that I became a chef. Landing in Michigan some 17 years ago, I have been fortunate enough to work at some of the top restaurants and learn from some great chefs along the way. In my free time I enjoy going golfing, playing tennis and spending time with my son.
I feel thankful everyday to come to work and be surrounded by laughter and warmth. It’s always a highlight of my day to walk down our Main Street and chat with residents and their families as close friends. I’ve learned that every resident has a story, and some of our residents have played a part in major historical events. I feel honored that over the years I’ve met residents in all walks of life, from artists and musicians to politicians and war heroes, even a female pilot! I feel blessed for the personal and professional growth I’ve been afforded during my years here.
I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of a community where genuine care, compassion and respect, by staff as well as residents, is evident daily. My 8 years at Sentinel Pointe have given me an even greater appreciation and respect for our seniors and especially so for our Veterans. I am blessed to be able to call our community my home away from home.
