I’m Malissa O’Brian, the Executive Director of Waldenbrooke Estates.
I am a native Texan and lived on the outskirts of Houston, in Cypress and Katy, until 2015. At that time, my husband and I moved near Brenham with our 17 year old daughter and 10 year old son, to help his parents take care of a large ranch, which was becoming difficult for them to handle on their own, after some health issues.
I began my career in the medical field, working alongside Dr. Red Duke and Life Flight at Memorial Hermann Hospital Emergency Room in the Houston Medical Center. After a few years, I switched gears, and went back into Property Management, where I had been a leasing/sales agent for apartments while I was in school.
I worked through each position until I became a Community Manager, while obtaining my Texas Real Estate License, and was promoted to operate an apartment building for senior citizens. I have been a Regional Property Manager, and a National Marketing and Training Coordinator.
When I had my son in 2006, traveling became difficult. I continued writing training and operations manuals for property management companies, wrote articles for local and national magazines, promoted local authors and worked with businesses to create marketing material and website content.
When my son started school, I wanted to go back to work full time doing something I was passionate about, where I could make a difference…helping others. I found the perfect fit as a Senior Advisor, assisting seniors and their families to find resources in crisis situations and to find permanent living situations for those that were aging or looking for a change. I worked with multiple communities nationwide, coordinating care for patients that were being released from rehab, had dementia, needed assisted living and even those that were just looking for an active senior living lifestyle. I became a Nationally Certified Senior Advisor and have loved helping and getting to know what is important to seniors in all stages of their life.
I am excited to now be here at Waldenbrooke Estates, and look forward to meeting you, if I haven’t already. I’m open to suggestions and new ideas, and will strive to make Waldenbrooke Estates the BEST place for you to call HOME!
My name is Brandi McMahan. I was born and raised in Cypress, TX. I graduated from Ashford University with my Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration. I began my career in Durable Medical Equipment providing respiratory services to patients of all ages. I really took to the senior population, as they have so much love and life experiences to share with all of us. I am excited to work with so many wonderful individuals at Waldenbrooke Estates.
I moved to the Bryan/College Station area in 2007 when I met my husband, John. We have been married for almost 8 years and have 2 beautiful children that we adopted. The road from foster care to adoption was a hard road, but one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. My daughter Elise is 10 years old and in the 5th grade and my son Jase is 6 years old and in Kindergarten.
I have been working in the Culinary Industry in Texas for over 15 years. I was previously a Chef at Christopher’s World Grille for 11 years. I was awarded 1st Place in the 2008 Mushroom Festival and was even invited to create private cuisines for both former Presidents – George W. Bush and George Bush, Sr.
Zoey has a passion for seniors and enjoys getting to know the lives and different journeys our residents have lived. She was born and raised in a small town in Queensland, Australia. She moved to Bryan in 2002 and now considers it home. She’s been happily married to Trey, the love of her life, for nine years. They have three beautiful children who keep them on their toes. Makenzi is 9, Lily is 6 and Quade is 3.
I am Jamie DaPrile, Sales Director at Waldenbrooke Estates. I was born and raised in Southern Indiana and moved to Texas 11 years ago with my husband, Landon. My roots have earned me the nickname “Hoosier” while getting to know our current residents! I have been helping seniors in the BCS area since 2012 and I am happy to be a resource for you and your family and can answer many questions; from how to get in-home help you may need, to accessing funds from VA Benefits and more. When I am not at work, I can be found at the baseball field cheering on my two sons, Austin and Case. Stop by and say Howdy! If you can’t find me at the office, chances are I’m touring a future resident or I’m enjoying some activities with our current residents!
