My career in Senior Living began as a volunteer in Life Enrichment. This, along with caring for my mother in her last days, gave me a servant’s heart towards our seniors. In addition to my own family, which includes a new husband, 4 children and a new grandson, I now have a host of other friends and family that I am privileged to interact with at Governor’s Ridge on a daily basis. It warms my heart knowing I have been part of making someone’s day a little brighter with a smile or a kind word. We’d love to meet you here at The Ridge!

I am excited to join Governor’s Ridge as the Resident Care Director. I come with 10 years of experience as an LVN. I started as a nurse’s aide at the age of 18, followed by becoming a phlebotomist which led into my nursing career. I dearly love the senior population and strive to provide the best care possible to each and every one of my residents. I look forward to getting to know and care for all of the current residents, as well as all of the new residents that may come. Outside of work, I enjoy watching my teenage son play multiple sports, playing with my 3 beautiful nieces and spending time with family and friends. I hope that I become as much of a blessing to each resident as I know they will be to me.

From the age of 6, I was helping my mother in the kitchen and developed a love for food. Shortly after finishing high school, I decided to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts. Throughout my education, I worked in various restaurants and school cafeterias to gain additional experience in a kitchen environment. I graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts in 2020, as the pandemic was ramping up. I gained experience in the senior industry by working in a SNF during this time and volunteered for “Food & Wine” events in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Hawaii. At each event, I had the pleasure of working with professional Chefs. I moved to Texas in 2022 and joined Governor’s Ridge.

I have several years experience in activities with the Committee on Aging and Director of the Bridgeport Senior Center. I attended college at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. My hobbies are crafts, painting, boating and spending time with my grand children. I enjoy making the residents smile and laugh. The residents and staff at Governor’s Ridge are family, and I will do my best to encourage that relationship.

Bethany Cobb – I began working at Governor’s Ridge as a caregiver my senior year in high school (2007) and have fallen in love with the senior population. I transitioned to Assistant Care Director and eventually into Administrative Assistant. When not at work, I am raising my 5 year old son, caring for my mom and spending as much time as I can outdoors. My goal is making our residents’ lives better every day. It may be a hug, helping with their electronic questions or talking to their families. I am ready and willing to meet their needs, whatever it may be.
