I was born and raised in Lancaster County. My husband Felix and I are avid garage sale shoppers; we enjoy both the hunt and the bargains. I’ve been a nurse for over 30 years and an administrator for over 20 of those years. What I especially like about being a part of Evergreen Estates is the genuine welcoming kindness from residents and team members that I get every day. It warms my heart.
I have lived in Lancaster County all my life. For the past 12 years, I have worked in Personal Care/Assisted Living, recently earning my LPN credential. I love the geriatric community.
What I’ve enjoyed most about being at Evergreen Estates for the past 3 years, is the feeling of “family,” which is portrayed by the residents, their families and co-workers. Residents and staff being are warm and welcoming daily. They truly care about one another through hardships we face each day. We also celebrating each other’s joyful times, we here at Evergreen really stick together.
I look at everyday as a way of learning and finding ways to make a difference. God has blessed me with 3 beautiful children, who have always been my inspiration and have spent most of their lives around my line of work. I also have 3 wonderful step-children who have recently entered my life that I hold very close to my heart. The value of “family” is an important aspect my husband Luis and I share, so personally it has been awesome to be able to work with family here at Evergreen!
I have enjoyed working in the culinary industry for the past 20 years. Growing up in the military, I had the privilege to travel the United States, and indulge and enjoy the local dishes. This love of food drive me into kitchen, to recreate some of my favorite dishes. For the past 6 years, I have enjoyed serving the senior community. My background includes working Marriot, Bob Evans, Hershey Resorts, Country Meadows, and Signature Senior Living. I currently live in Hershey, Pa, with my wife Kim and two sons. My philosophy is, “One meal will make a difference”, and I live by it.
I started volunteering at Evergreen Estates a number of years ago as a hobby while my children were young. I instantly fell in love with the residents and the small community atmosphere. Now being employed here, I feel like I have the best job. I enjoy spending time getting to know the residents as we plan and carry out daily activities with them. Seeing some of the residents come into Evergreen withdrawn and shy, and then in a short time seeing them happily engaged in activities, is so rewarding.
As Business Office Manager, my main goal is to keep residents and their families at ease knowing that their finances and records are being taken care of in a timely and accurate manner. Evergreen Estates is a very warm and welcoming place! I enjoy spending my days alongside the residents and staff.
I am originally from Tacoma, Washington. I found my way back to Pennsylvania recently, where my father had been stationed years ago with while in the military. I have degrees in Business Administration and accounting.
