Corby Place was opened in 1909 as the premier professional office building in St Joseph. It was and still remains the tallest building in St. Joseph. It evolved to also house the Grain Exchange which became one of the largest in the country. It was converted into apartments as office needs changed and opened as Senior Housing in 1986. It was purchased by the Foutch Brothers in 2009 to become Corby Place Senior Living. Titan Senquest purchased Corby Place Senior Living in September of 2014. The structure is comprised of 14 stories with 77 apartments. It has five different floor plans of one bedrooms and two different floor plans of two bedrooms. The 14th floor has two penthouse apartments, an elegant ballroom and a rooftop terrace with spectacular views. In addition, we have a well-stocked library, dining room, parlor, garden area, game room, exercise room and a fire safety system.
We are conveniently located near Highway 36 and Highway 229 for easy access to our community. Surrounding points of interest in walking distance are four restaurants, Civic Arena, public library, Senior Center, YMCA, Historical Missouri Theater with performances from Performing Arts and St. Joseph Symphony, Felix Square and we are on the parade route for all parades.
